The Bahamas has been home to our food service division, Bahamas Food Service, for almost 40 years. We at BFS have made a great effort to be a “good neighbor” and a good corporate partner in the eyes of our employees and our customers. We want BFS to be not only a great place to work because of our ethics, but we want everyone who does business with us to be proud of their association with BFS. Giving back to the community is not only part of the Bahamian life style, it is one of the pillars on which we built our business. Even in tough economic times, we support a select group of organizations that we think are worthy of our assistance like the AIDS Camp, Ranfurly Home for Children, Hands for Hunger and a few others that take care of the aged, the abandoned and children who have no one to help them. We think it is very important that our customers know that their dollars stay right here in the Bahamas and are reinvested in the business and the community.
Over the years, we have participated in and given assistance to civic, health, environmental and educational programs throughout Nassau and the surrounding areas. We are founding members of the Bahamas Marine Export Association and strong supporters of local fishing and farming interests. We support the mentoring efforts through the reading program at the Stephen Dillett School and other worthy civic functions that promote improvement for life and business in the Bahamas. We have always worked closely with the trustees rehabilitation efforts from the Fox Hill facility, giving job training and teaching life skills to inmates on work release programs. We think that the investment in these young men will pay dividends in the future for the Bahamas. We have taken our time, treasure, and talents and given back to the country we have grown to call home.
