bfs food show

One of the most important trade events in the F&B industry in The Bahamas was the much-anticipated “BFS Food Show”. This annual trade show was hosted by Bahamas Food Services and featured 60-80 vendors showcasing food, drinks and restaurant equipment to customers from all over the country.

The changing landscape of The Bahamas included the devastating impact of Hurricane Dorian in 2019, followed by pandemic shutdowns of 2020 into 2021, leading to a pause in planning for such a big event. The last big show was held in 2018.

Under stern yet effective leadership by a government led by one of the country’s most prominent physicians, The Bahamas was subject to lockdowns, shutdowns, curfew and security measures that included mandatory masks and closed borders to incoming flights. The effects of Covid-19 on the country were managed by our medical community, who worked tirelessly to keep the virus managed and contained. Vaccinations were soon introduced and this helped to encourage people to step out and slowly move to reopening the country.

As of June 2022, vaccines and covid-19 tests are no longer required to enter the country. Unvaccinated people are welcome to visit if they have a negative covid test. More details on entry requirements are always listed here on Bahamas.com.
