Restaurant Marketing & Local Events – August 2014

August is hot and denoted as “slow” here in The Bahamas. However, people still need to eat and while many restaurants and hotels will close for a few weeks for an annual vacation, many others will remain open to service the local market. It is a great time to deep-clean, order and receive new ware and equipment, take a huge physical inventory, write new menus for the fall, plan out your structure through the year-end and arrange any training or administrative changes that need to be done.

In the US (and elsewhere!), restaurants regularly schedule promotions around special recognition days. These days and monikers are chosen by various organisations, carried by social media and used by restaurants to stimulate sales programs and specials.
