Looking for Korean Short Ribs? The Flanken-Style Beef Rib is the Answer!

“Flanken-Style” Beef Short Ribs refers to a specific meat cut where the beef rib is cut across the bone, giving a narrow slab of meat that has 3-4 short pieces of bone, a high fat content and a rich, meaty flavour. This is a BFS Meat Room product that is cut here at Sysco Bahamas in our butcher room downstairs.

All beef ribs must be cooked with care in order to avoid being tough and chewy. Flanken-style Beef Ribs can be marinated then grilled or otherwise cooked more quickly. This is different than other types of beef short rib that are cut between the bones, are less tender and are traditionally slow cooked like pot roast.
