#EmbraceEquity on International Women’s Day

March is Women’s History Month, a time to reflect on the achievements and strength of women through time and into today.

Sysco makes it a point to celebrate International Women’s Day every 8th of March, and this year all Sysco colleagues across the planet will together celebrate women under the theme #EmbraceEquity

As one of the largest foodservice companies in the world, Sysco has had many accomplished women in leadership positions who have made significant contributions to the company. Sysco Bahamas follows suit, featuring a female president, VP and several directors, managers and many other professional women across all departments. Among other initiatives, Sysco has a Women’s Foodservice Forum which aims to support and develop women in the foodservice industry, including women at Sysco. The forum provides networking opportunities, mentorship programs, and educational resources to help women advance in their careers. Overall, the achievements of women at Sysco and the support provided by Sysco’s Women’s Foodservice Forum demonstrate the company’s commitment to gender diversity and inclusivity in the workplace.

The IWD 2023 #EmbraceEquity campaign theme seeks to get the world talking about why “equal opportunities are no longer enough” – and can in fact be exclusionary, rather than inclusive. READ MORE HERE

ABOUT WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH

Women’s History Month is a time to recognize and celebrate the important contributions of women throughout history. It is observed annually in March in the United States, and in many other countries around the world. The month-long celebration aims to highlight the struggles and achievements of women throughout history, from the suffragette movement to the modern day. It also serves as a reminder of the ongoing fight for gender equality and the need to ensure that women’s voices are heard and their rights are protected. Women’s History Month provides an opportunity to learn about the often-overlooked contributions of women in various fields and to honor the pioneers who paved the way for future generations of women.
